"Our mission is to worship and serve God with open hearts, open minds and open arms"
My name is Rev. Jenny Tucker and I am the pastor here at Highland Lakes United Methodist Church.
I graduated from Austin Theological Seminary in May 2011 and was commissioned as a candidate for ordination that June. I served as pastor for Iredell and Cranfills Gap United Methodist Churches for two years while completing my ordination requirements.
In June 2013, I was ordained as an Elder in FulI Connection with the United Methodist Church. At that time, I was appointed to serve in Texas as pastor of the United Methodist Churches in the communities of Lometa and Bend.
I grew up in Houston and attended the University of Houston, graduating in 1980 with a degree in Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences. While working at the University of Texas Health Science Center, I met and a year later married Dr. Kelly Tucker, who was a third year medical student at the time of our marriage. After he finished his residency in Family Medicine, we moved our growing family to Llano, Texas. Dr. Tucker joined the Hoerster Clinic, now Baylor Scott & White - Hoerster Clinic. We have three grown children, Kristopher, Jeremy and his wife Ruby, and Clare.
My hobbies are reading, continuing to study theology, and travel. My husband and I love the mountains, especially the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. We visited the Holy Land in the fall of 2014 and also went to Egypt to see the Great Pyramids. We took Kris and Clare with us to Portland, Oregon in May so that I can experience General Conference, and the family could visit Jeremy and Ruby who live in Portland.
